Clearing the Nebula

Posted on Thu Feb 8th, 2007 @ 4:55pm by Captain Buzz Polaris

Mission: The Zone
Location: Bridge USS Pacifica

ON:

Buzz was shocked by the current state of events as the mission had not at all
gone to plan, as Lieutenant Hart had picked up a distress call from the ship\'s
fighter squadron.

Butterworth: Butterworth: Helm lay in a course for a distress call and get us
underway. Once we clear the nebula go to maximum warp.

Helm: Aye sir.

Buzz knew that it was going to take a few minutes for the ship to clear the
nebula as they had positioned themselves quite deep in it. Getting up from his
chair he strolled across to the helm and watched as the Ensign brought the
ship\'s engines back to life. Lt(JG) L\'Verrem spoke up from his station.

L\'Verrem: Commodore, the tachyon/anti-proton pulse detection technique was
unsuccessful. I am baffled why. This technique detects even Romulan cloaked
ships in these conditions. There may be more interference from the nebula than I
had anticipated. I am attempting to readjust sensors to scan for secondary and
tertiary quantum echos. Perhaps the nebula\'s blackbody radiation emissions will
help reveal more.

Butterworth: Keep at it, Red Alert all hands to battle stations.

The tempo on the bridge seemed to pick up more as the ship jumped to red alert
and as everyone moved to their various battlestations. Buzz took a quick look
around the bridge before glancing back down at the helm.

Polaris: How long until we clear the nebula.

Helm: Another two minutes sir.

OFF: Tag Bridge Crew.
