L\'Verrem was at his post before most of the morning shift arrived. He actually expected the humans to be late for duty with the celebrations of the night before, but they dutifully appeared on time one by one. One of the human crewmembers mentioned something about New Year\'s celebration was coming up next (L\'Verrem noted they humans have almost as many celebrations as Caitians do). L\'Verrem was entranced (seemingly anyway, Caitians don\'t blink as often as humans) at his workstation, ears pricked forward and tail lazily swishing back and forth. The Krazzle apparently encountered ships from Species 8472, the USS Millennium is tailing and studying a damaged Planet Killer (that made the fur on the back of his neck raise up), and there was a disease outbreak on Vulcan. L\'Verrem made a mental note to discuss the Krazzle encounter with Species 8472 with Lt. Venn, who now led the newly formed Intelligence Section. L\'Verrem continued to scroll down the list of reports and stopped at a series of pirate attacks on shipping and vessels sent to police the area. These pirates, whoever they were, were certainly brave (or foolish, L\'Verrem couldn\'t decide.) to not only attack a Soverign-class vessel, but continue to prey on shipping, despite more intense patrolling of the area. He didn\'t know why the Federation hadn\'t closed down the area to shipping traffic, but economics were not his expertise. His trail of thought was interrupted as he heard the Commodore\'s voice from the turboshaft just as the doors opened. He subconciously rotated an ear around to follow his conversation.
