			The Flight Control Department is responsible for the navigation and flight control of a vessel and its auxiliary craft. The Flight Control Department includes pilots trained in both starship and auxiliary craft piloting, note that the Flight Control Department does not include fighter pilots. Although the staff compliment of the Flight Control Department is nominally 55 it is one of the more flexible departments on the ship. Starship piloting is mostly conducted by eight members of the department among them the Chief Flight Control Officer [[James Markson\|Lieutenant Commander James Markson]] and his deputy [[Holly White\|Lieutenant Holly White]].
