Kelly has long soft light brown hair that she likes to keep at roughly shoulder length. She has never liked wearing her hair up so she often keeps it down and loose around her shoulders and neck. She only chooses to wear her hair up during special occasions or during surgury. She has her mother's face right down to her brown eyes. Her active lifestyle has kept her very fit and has helped her to maintain a trim and healthy figure.

Kelly has always been a very sporty and active person, this has naturally made her a competitive and highly motivated young woman who has a strong desire to succeed at everything she does. Her desire to be the best wasn't helped by the fact that she is the youngest in her family. She also has a bit of a short temper and can be easily annoyed, she is not afraid to speak her mind and express her opinions.

History
Childhood/Early life
Kelly grew up in a small town on the west coast of Tasmania. She was the youngest child in her family and from a early age developed a sibling rivalry with her older sister. Despite this Kelly had a really close relationship with her sister and considered her to be her best friend, which has continued well into adulthood. A part of her though always resented the fact that her sister did better then her at most things, this gave Kelly a false belief that her sister was the favourite child.
From a young age Kelly also developed a strong love of sports, because of this her mother often referred to her as being a tomboy. This didn't bother Kelly at all as it was something that she truly enjoyed doing and it helped to seperate her from her sister in the eyes of her parents.Her love of sport also helped her form a very strong bond with her father who was also sports mad. Although she was often viewed by those around her as a being tomboy it didn't stop her from being quite popular at school especially with the boys.
Starfleet Academy
Butterworth entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 17 in the year 2366, he attended many different classes including minor courses in Flight Control, Engineering, and major courses of Command, Operations and Tactical and a number of minor courses including diplomacy . He was strong in all of his courses especially in tactical and flight control thanks mainly to having quick eye to coordination skills. During his final year at the academy, Butterworth was selected to take part in a training mission onboard the academy training ship. During this 1 month mission Butterworth proved to the academy instructors that he was a more then a capable officer.
Starfleet Career
Fresh from the academy Butterworth took up the position of a security officer on the USS Lovell. He served with the Lovell for three years spending the last two years as the ship’s assistant chief of security.
At the end of the year 2370, Butterworth decided to move from the security department to the operations department as it was something that he had wanted to do since joining the Lovell. This got him a transfer to the USS Santiago where he served for another year, before requesting and transferred to the USS Galaxy where he took up the position as Chief Operations, earning him a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
He served on the Galaxy for five years, in which time he had become a valued member of the ship’s senior crew and served as acting XO a number of times. Before he was offered the position as Executive Officer on another Galaxy Class ship the USS Iowa which was apart of Star Fleet’s Forth Fleet under the command of Captain Edward Launceston.
He took up the position and transferred to Deep Space 12 where the Iowa was taking on new crew. During his first mission on the Iowa he had to take command when the Captain and a number of the Senior Crew disappeared. Butterworth holding the field rank of Lieutenant Commander lead the mission successfully and on the captain’s return was promoted to the full rank of Commander. He continued to serve on the Iowa turning down a chance to command the vessel himself when Launceston was transferred off ship. He served on the Iowa for a while longer before being offered his own command the new Sovereign Class USS Pacifica.
He accepted the position and with Lt. Morgan who was also named the new CMO of the Pacifica transferred to the Starbase 33 where the Pacifica was receiving her final trimmings. After a busy final week the ship was launched as Butterworth made final arrangements with his hand picked senior crew. During the Pacifica's first two months of duty Starfleet Command Promoted Butterworth to the rank of Captain. He was also named as Task Group CO of Task Group 3 "The Black Swans" in Bravo Fleet’s Task Force 86.
In his time on the Pacifica Butterworth has lead and helped out in a number of missions. He assisted Starbase 565 while his ship was docked at the Starbase for repairs. Shortly after pulling out of Starbase 565 Butterworth along with the rest of the Pacifica crew were ordered out on a secret mission to retrieve a segment from the legendary Dujonians Hoard for research, they successfully completed the mission and Butterworth was promoted to the rank of Commodore for his efforts. After persistent pressure by the ship’s CMO Butterworth took some time off and journeyed to Risa for some relaxation returning a few weeks later to find his ship in complete disarray, In need of major repairs Butterworth ordered the ship to head for the closet Starbase. Recently his personal relationship with Lt Commander Connie Morgan a long time friend of his and one of his officers turned interment they began to date each other.
During the Pacifica's stop over at DS12, Butterworth lead the Pacifica into a fight against a Borg vessel that was attacking the station, even though the Pacifica ended up being pulled inside the Borg ship Butterworth and the Pacifica played a small roll in bringing the Borg undone. Butterworth then lead a small task group made of the Pacifica and the USS Iowa under the command of Commander Norvin Kallis on a Joint Mission to track down the USS Noble which had disappeared near the Cardassian Border. When the two vessels ended up back in time Butterworth had to keep the timeline intact while retrieving the stricken USS Noble from it’s resting place on a water planet. Since returning to its own timeline Butterworth has continued to command the Pacifica, in 2380 he worked on re-establishing diplomatic contact with the Archerians an alien race who were once part of the Federation. During the mission Butterworth was badly injured and kidnapped along with other members of the senior crew, by a group of radical Archerians who were aiming to de-rail the peace effort. Thankfully the Pacifica crew resolved the situation and Butterworth was able to receive the treatment that he needed. Because of his continued service to Star Fleet Butterworth was named as the second executive officer for Bravo Fleet’s Task Force 17. He eventually stepped aside from the position as he wanted to fully concentrate on his command and his personal life. Butterworth was recently married to Connie Morgan and the two of them are looking forward to starting a family together.
