Admiral

Admiral is a military rank, the equivalent of which is used by the service organizations of many civilizations.

Use in Starfleet

In Starfleet the rank of Admiral is the second most senior flag officer rank, after Vice Admiral and before Fleet Admiral Admiral. The equivalent rank used by the Starfleet Marine Core is General.

Admirals hold senior and important positions in the fleet and as such can command entire fleets of Starships. They are however often found at Star Fleet Headquarters on Earth where they coordinate the efforts of the entire fleet.
