Physical Description:

Sevik is a stereotypical Vulcan, white skinned with a very slight green tint, his features seemed to be carved of stone and he exudes an almost palpable aura of calm confidence.

Personality & Traits

General Overview:

Many of those who have come into contact with Sevik would say that he has no personality. He controls his emotions flawlessly although he does care deeply for those people who he serves with. Although, as is typical with Vulcans, he is a pacifist by nature he is not above defending himself and others should the need arise and will intercede in defence of a friend in an argument where he sees the truth being skewed. He is a clinical thinker and will always apply logic to define the most prudent course of action in a given situation.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Logic, analysing any situation in a purely objective fashion allows Sevik to choose the best in a situation, he is intelligent and a quick thinker which helps get the job done in a tricky situation. Although not having any emotional bearing on anything does sometimes put him at odds with other officers to the point where he is often seen as stubborn.

Vulcan physiology is a great help though as he can often withstand more hostile environments than other crew members.

Ambitions:

Ambition is illogical and can lead to jealousy and hatred. Vulcans are driven but not ambitious.

Hobbies & Interests:

Sevik enjoys astronomy, the game of Kal-toh and Vulcan martial arts. While not an overly physical person he will readily try out new things. He also has a strange attachment to Klingon opera.

Languages:

Vulcan, Federation Standard, Klingon, Romulan, Ferengi

History

Childhood

Sevik was born in the city of Shi'Khar, his father was a Vulcan master and passed on his teachings to his son who quickly grasped the concepts taught by the great leader Surak. However, during the nights he would look up at the stars and wonder what lay beyond them. He completed his formal schooling before being selected to join the Science academy in his home city to learn more about the stars and space. He spent many years there learning and studying data on various celestial phenomenon and stellar bodies. In order to further himself he transferred to Starfleet academy in order to one day serve aboard a starship and see the galaxy for himself.

Academy

Due to the longevity of Vulcans Sevik was the oldest classman in his freshman year at 27. He adapted quickly to the rigors of Academy life and started off studying science and tactical, however, it quickly became evident that his quick analytical mind would be better tested under a more stratgic course. With the consent of his tutor Sevik moved onto strategic operations training during the first semester of his second year on Earth. He proved that this was the right decision shortly thereafter with exemplary performances across the board, excelling in every tactical and strategic simulation that he took part in. His minor studies only suffered slightly due to the dedication he showed towards his main subject but he gained passing diplomas in field medicine, weapons training, close combat doctrine, advanced field survival, piloting, astrophysics and stellar cartography. He graduated with high honours four years later.

Starfleet

Sevik's first posting was to the deep space patrol vessel USS Horizon where there were numerous encounters with Romulans, Klingons, most of which were resolved without having to resort to combat. Sevik split his time between some Operations work and Engineering during this tour. He served aboard the Horizon for five years before being released from active duty in order to fulfill his marriage commitments in 2352. He married his arranged bride T'por in a traditional ceremony on Vulcan and stayed there serving as a junior Starfleet representative for two and a half years before being recalled.

Sevik finally had a chance to show his strategic muscles when he was assigned to the USS Orion, a New Orleans class vessel, the joined as a strategic operations officer and stayed aboard until the vessels decommissioning ten years later, this would be the longest posting and also the most testing that the young officer would face. Six years into the tour the Orion was joined up with a science vessel, the USS Nightingale to recover Federation settlers from a geologically unstable planet where the volatile tectonic activity had caused a virulent plague to sweep across the populace. The Nightingale were working on a cure for the plague as the Orion was transporting survivors off the doomed world. During the mission a ship of unknown configuration warped into the system and opened fire on the Nightingale rupturing the warp core. The Orion responded by positioning herself between the assailant and the failing Nightingale. The Orion suffered heavy damage during the encounter losing transporters, shields and warp drive before being able to destroy the unknown aggressor. It was too late for the Nightingale however, her crew were unable to contain the resulting core breach and the ship was lost with all hands, including the Chief Medical Officer, Sevik's older sister T'Sen. The people were eventually rescued from the planet when a Excelsior class ship the USS Claymore arrived to provide aid. Sevik and the rest of the crew were extended a four month leave of absense and awarded commendations for their defense of the colony and the Nightingale.

Following his posting on the Orion Sevik moved to Starfleet academy for a three year posting as a Strategic operations field tutor, helping students during simulated missions. He left the academy after requesting transfer to an active vessel and feeling that he had not yet acquired the experience required to become an effective Academy teacher.

Leaving the Academy and Earth behind Sevik began the first of two seven year assignments, the first of which saw him promoted to deputy chief of strategic operations aboard the USS Atlantic. This was an interesting tour as it took the ship along the Ferengi border leading to numerous encounters. It was during this time that Sevik learned the Ferengi language and learned much about Ferengi combat tactics (such as they are) and the Ferengi people. The Atlantic took part in many live combat simulations and Sevik was a part of the team that improved the combat performance of the vessel, plotting attack patterns and charting the various weaknesses of a vessel against which he fought. This proved useful during the Dominion War. The tour came to an end when the ship was studying a collapsing star near the Romulan border. The blue dwarf was not far from destroying itself and the resulting supernova would completely destroy the system including four planets containing a variety of pre-industrial societies. The captain of the Atlantic put the Prime Directive on hold and decided to move the people to a safer location, however, while doing so the star imploded earlier than predicted, the explosion ripped through the planets and almost destroyed the Atlantic as well. The ship was retired rather than be re-fit.

Five years into his next position aboard the Akira class vessel the USS Thor ran into a previously undiscovered spatial anomaly. The radiation being emitted was starting to damage structural integrity of the vessel and intense gravimetric distortions were pushing hull stress to critical levels. The Chief Strategic officer was killed when a series of power surges throughout the ship started to short out consoles all over the ship including several on the bridge. Twenty-three casualties were reported including Sevik's immediate superior, he was field promoted to fill the position with the ship eventually managing to disperse the anomaly. He was to prove himself over the next two years during numerous encounters with rogue Klingon warships, ensuring that each confrontation was successful. This inluded luring an older Vor'cha cruiser towards a gas giant's gravity well from which it could not escape, the Thor did not fire a single shot before the pressure crushed the Klingon vessel.

Sevik's field promotion as Chief Strategic Operations Officer was made permanent and he received new orders to move to the USS Pacifica.
