History

James was born on July 8th 2347, he was a man who was raised well his family. The Weatherlight's were all experts in flying, his father was a elite shuttle pilot but has sinced turned in his wings for a job at Utopia Planetia designing new shuttles for Starfleet. At the age of 16 after doing extreamly well in school he lied about his age and applied at Starfleet Academy. He continuted the tradition and became a shuttle pilot at 19, he graduated and his first posting was with the Nebula Class starship USS Melbourne.

In 2365 he was faced in combat with the Borg at Wolf 359, fresh out of the academy he was brought into combat in a shuttle squadron to face off the Borg Cube. He offered a tactic, he used in combat simulations at the academy and the flight leader gave it a try. The result was a disaster as his entire squadron was destroyed by the Borg Cube as it oblitered Admiral JP Hansen's fleet of 40 starships including the Melbourne. James was injured in the battle suffering three broken ribs and a broken leg his shuttle was barely holding together. He was picked up by the Enterprise and treated he spent four months back on Earth recovering. In 2373 on his posting at the USS Yamato-A, the Dominion War broke out and James was a petty officer at the time. He piloted many successful skirmishes in shuttles against the Dominion forces and his efforts did not go unnoticed. He was awarded squadron leader of the Yamato's shuttle pilots and during the course of the war he would lead his squadron to many successful engagements with the Dominion suffering little or no casualities.

When the war ended he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and given a posting on the USS Explorer as chief shuttle pilot. He would serve for the ship for 6 months with a promotion to Chief Warrant Officer 2 before being transfered to the USS Sentinal. When his time on the Sentinal came to an end he returned to Earth to relax. He was then posted for a 6 month duty on the USS Pegasus under the command of Captain Breamer, when his tour was completed he was posted at Utopia Planetia as a Lieutenant to oversee development of new shuttle prototypes. The posting would get him time to see his father who he hasn't seen in a long time.
