Ensign Kirsty Calmwood was the only survivor found alive on the Federation Freighter Durban by the crew of the USS Odin. She returned with the crew of the runabout to the USS Pacifica and assisted the Pacifica's crew with their investigation into the unprovked attack of the Durban. Whilst on the Pacifica she spent a considerable amount of time with the Pacifica's Counselor Vanessa Baron who helped her to cope with the loss of her fellow crewmates and friends on the Durban.
