The Transporter Chief is responsible for all transports to and from other ships and any planetary bodies. When transporting is not going on, the Transporter Chief is responsible for keeping the transporters running at peak efficiency. The Transporter Chief is also responsible for the training of all the personnel assigned to them.
The team assigned to the Transporter Chief is made up from enlisted and NCO personnel, assigned by the Assistant Chief Operations Officer and Chief Operations Officer, though usually requested by the Chief. The Transporter Chief reports to the Assistant Chief Operations Officer and Chief Operations Officer.
