Lieutenant Adrian Doherty is a NPC character attached to the Pacifica's Engineering Department under the command of Lieutenant Commander [[Mark Kirkwood[[. Doherty was originally assigned to the Pacifica as a Computer System Specialist but was promoted to the position of Engineer in 2379.

General Overview:
Doherty is a hard working free spirited officer who when on duty is fully switched on. His computer skills and other generalized engineering abilities makes him a reliable hand around the ship. He is also quite a funny man and always has the time for a joke on or off duty.

Likes to spend his free time jazzing up his own personal computer, also enjoys playing sports like soccer and basketball in the holodeck.

History
Pre Starfleet Academy
Ever since he was young Adrian has had a great understanding on computers, excelling through primary and secondary schools. After leaving high school, he went and attended a very hard demanding computer course that was provided by the Daystrom Institute which he passed through with high marks.
Academy History
After finishing his course at the Daystorm Institute, he was offered a place as a cadet at Starfleet Academy only the second person to do so that came from the Institute's course. He worked hard at the Academy studying basic engineering as a second course but computer systems was his main focus point. He graduated as one of the highest achievers in computer systems.
Starfleet History
After graduating Adrian was offered a position as a junior computer system developer at the Daystrom Institute but turned it down preferring to get some field experience instead. So he took up a position as junior engineer aboard the Excellsor Class USS Hood with the rank of Ensign. After saving the ship from certain destruction from a computer virus he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, before being promoted again to full Lieutenant when he transferred to the USS Pacifica to take on the role as the ship's computer systems specialist.
