Description:

Inara mostly wears a Starfleet Uniform while on duty, however while off duty, she goes into an entirely different mode. Off duty, Inara displays the typical eccentric demeanor of a Joined Trill, and she has been known to wear the most fascinating and interesting garments from the far corners of the quadrant. From overly extravagant Betazoid dresses to Human Clothing, her wardrobe is massive and contains dress for literally every occasion. Inara carries with her a silent grief that is usually calmed by memories of her late husband.

General Overview:

Quite possibly the only thing Inara is serious abourt is her duty, any other time she is known for her eccentricities and free-spirited demeanor. She is very lighthearted, but this is not to be taken lightly, she is only serious when it is required of her. Inara carries with her an insatiable curiosity, and she can find the mundane fascinating so much that people question her sanity. Inara is quite new to the prospects of being joined, as she had never contemplated the possibility that she could host a symbiont, so she is still in transition from her former self, to her new self. Fortunately, she finds her new self appealing.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Inara carries centuries of wisdom and insight, however her inexperienced with being joined has put a great weight upon her to adapt to the fact that she is now amougst the elite of Trill whose memories will be passed on in the symbionts. She feels inadequite for the responsibility, but up for its challenges and pitfalls. Inara also has an obsession with Latinum, not greed, but an affinity for it. As for her weaknesses, Inara is still grieving inside for her late husband Tallen

Inara's hobbies and interests are ever-changing. A new interest can literally appear out of nowhere and at random moments. One hobby that is ever constant is that she is an infamous cardshark with an obsession for Latinum

History

Inara started life on Trill as a young woman who never considered herself proper material for symbiosis. She only pursued the rigorous academic and physical training at her parents insistence. When she matured as an adult, she felt that she did not want to undergo symbiosis however her parents, and her sister who recieved the well known Tell Symbiont, had great amounts of influence with the Symbiosis Commission.

To avoid a fate she didn't want, she left Trill and ran away to Starlfeet Academy. She saw the Symbiosis Trials as more of a Rat Race and her parents as 'cheat helpers' in the race. Her desertion of her family was not without consequence, as she had been fully disowned by her entire family. When that happened, Inara knew that they cared only about their prestige and not about how she felt.

However, she would excel her chosen field at the Academy. She found the physical demands of Security and Tactical more fitting than the Academic pressure imposed upon her by her parents. She found Security as her way of preventing people from imposing their will on others, which formed the basis of her core beliefs that each person or being was free to create themselves at their will.

While at the Academy, Inara meet a Trill by the name of Tallen Kain. And their relationship was rocky at the start. Tallen reminded Inara of everything she hated at home on Trill. The Symbiosis Commission, her Parents Influence, even the thought of being forced into being joined. From the moment they meet, Inara castigated Tallen so much that both of them were assigned to the Counselor's just to resolve their differences.

However, Inara and Tallen would not need a Counselor to resolve their feud, but themselves. During a routine shuttle run near Titan, Tallen got adventurous and tried to do a Titan's Turn. However, he came in too steep and the shuttle crashed on Titan's Surface. Starfleet spent nearly three days combing Titan's Atmosphere for the two Trill in order to finally find them desperately in love.

At first Inara tried to choke Tallen for the incident and, when choking seemed more difficult than first imagined, she threw pieces of debris at Tallen. One the second day, Inara calmed down, and the two started to help each other survive in the damaged shuttlecraft, while doing so, they developed a mutual respect for each other, and finally, friendship. They finally eloped on the third day just as they were beamed out of the shuttlecraft.

They were reprimanded for the clash, but they still passed the Academy. They were officially married the day after graduation, and would serve together and several posts. Mostly, Starbases and Space Stations. When they were assigned to the Pacifica, it was to be their first shipboard assignment. However, things would go terribly wrong.

A malfunction critically damaged the shuttlecraft that Inara and Tallen were taking to the Pacifica. A console explosion mortally wounded Tallen, but left Inara with little more than a few scrapes. By this time, they were in range of the Pacifica and were beamed to sickbay moments before the shuttle exploded.

However, a dilemma faced the Medical Staff, Tallen was dying, and so would Kain if another host was not found. Inara finally decided, against her fear of being joined, to allow the procedure. She would carry the memories of the man she loved.
