Major General is a military rank, the equivalent of which is used by the service organizations of many civilizations.
Use in Starfleet's Marine Corp
The rank of Major General is the second flag officer rank used by Starfleet's Marine Core. The rank is equivalent to the Star Fleet Flag rank of Rear Admiral. In the Marine Corp a Major General typically serves as the commander of division or division-sized units.
