Ensign George Panton is a young medical officer who is currently serving in the Medical Department on the USS Pacifica. The Pacifica is Panton's first assignment out of the Medical Academy as he was first assigned to the ship to complete his internship. He has built up a close working relationship with Doctor Butterworth who supervised him through his internship. Following the completion of his Intership, Dr Butterworth offered him permanent position in the [[USS Pacifica}Pacifica's]] Medical Department as a Medical Officer. Panton accepted the offer and has recently been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Panton's medical knowledge and skills are quite sound even though he lacks practical experience. This has improved greatly during his tenure on the Pacifica and is now a capable doctor in his own right.
