Yearly Awards 2004
Introduction
The USS Pacifica's Yearly Awards have been handed on the Pacifica since 2002 and play a major part in the ship awards program. The yearly awards are some of the most importat awards that are handed on the Pacifica. All of the awards with the except of the CO's & XO's Commendations are chosen by the Pacifica's players through voting on the ship's forum. Each of these awards are designed to highlight the very best of the Pacifica and her crew throughout the year just passed and to show what makes the Pacifica the simulation that it is today.
The 2004 Award Winners
The USS Pacifica Role Player of the Year Award
The USS Pacifica Role Player of the Year Award is one of the Pacifica’s major awards that is handed out annually during the Pacifica’s yearly awards. The USS Pacifica Role Player of the Year is awarded to the person who the Pacifica’s Simming Community feels has excelled the most during the previous year, this can be through posting or just being an active member of the crew both in and out of character. Winners of the award highlight the very best members of the Pacifica’s Simming Community throughout the years.

The USS Pacifica Writer of the Year Award
The Pacifica wouldn't be much of a simming community without a talented group of writers behind it. The Pacifica and it's community are a talented group of people who the bring the Pacifica and it's crew to life each and every day. The Writer of Year Award is awarded annually to the person who the community feels has contributed the most to the Pacifica's story through imaginative narrative and compelling dialog.

The USS Pacifica CO's Commendation
The USS Pacifica CO's Commendation is handed yearly by the Pacifica's CO's Commodore Daniel Butterworth to a individual player who he feels has made a significant contribution to the Pacifica during the previous year. This contribution can be made both in character and out of character.

The USS Pacifica XO's Commendation
The USS Pacifica XO's Commendation is handed yearly by the Pacifica's Executive Officer to a individual player who he or she feels has made a significant contribution to the Pacifica during the previous year. This contribution can be made both in character and out of character.

The USS Pacifica Most Improved Player Award
The USS Pacifica Most Improved Player Award is decided on by the Pacifica's players and is awarded to the player who the crew feel has improved the most over the previous year. This improvement can cover a variety of areas from improvement in posting via frequency or quality, to becoming an active member of the Pacifica both in a IC and OOC Role.

The USS Pacifica Most Dedicated Officer of the Year Award
For the USS Pacifica to be successful there needs to be a group of highly dedicated individuals behind it. These people often put in extra work behind the scenes and often go unrewarded for their effort. The USS Pacifica Most Dedicated Officer of the Year Award is awarded once a year, to the player who the Pacifica’s community feels has gone that extra yard in creating a wonderful environment to write in.

The USS Pacifica Bravest Officer of the Year Award
The Final Frontier is not for the faint of heart, as there are many dangers hidden amongst the unknown wonders of the universe. To succeed and to possibly survive in such an environment one must possess a certain level of bravery and confidence, this level of mental fortitude does not come easily to everyone. The USS Pacifica’s Bravest Officer of the Year Award is given out annually to the character who has shown the most courage and bravery during the previous year.

The USS Pacifica Smartest Officer of the Year Award
You need more than pure brawn when it comes to exploring a never ending frontier full of unknown, unimaginable wonders and mysteries. To solve these unknown dilemmas one requires knowledge, quick wits and a certain level of intelligence. The USS Pacifica’s Smartest Officer of the Year Award, rewards the character who has proven to be the most knowledgeable during the previous year.

The USS Pacifica NPC of the Year Award
NPC’s have feelings too, well at the least the good ones do. A good NPC adds to the atmosphere of the Pacifica and helps to bring the ship to life in a way that nameless Ensigns simply cannot. The NPC of the Year Award is awarded to one of these fine NPC's each and every year.

The USS Pacifica Best Subplot of the Year Award
A vital cog in any story telling process a subplot is a story within a story that helps to bring the ship’s crew to life. Throughout any given year a number of these stories will form and play out on the Pacifica. This award aims to highlight that one subplot that has stood out over the previous 12 months.

The USS Pacifica Mission of the Year Award
Missions are one of the major storytelling devices used on the Pacifica and provide the backdrop and setting for the ship’s characters to interact and grow in. Some of the missions stand above the others and each year the Pacifica’s players will select one of these missions to be the mission of the year.
