Eurydice is the largest of the eight moons in orbit around the blue gas giant Orpheus III. Eurydice is a unique Class M moon that is home to a lush and diverse environment with dense jungles and oceans that are teeming with primitive life. The moon’s existence was first confirmed by the USS Armstrong in 2362 and it is named after the ancient Greek mythological figure Eurydice who was the wife of Orpheus and daughter of the Greek god Apollo.

Starbase 749
To support the planned colony and future exploration missions in the Isis Arm Starfleet started construction of Starbase 749 in orbit around Eurydice in 2368. Despite the difficulties and challenges associated with building a facility in such an isolated location Starfleet hoped to have the base online and operational by 2377. The project was however delayed for several years with resources being diverted to fight the Dominion and to rebuild following the costly war. Construction recommenced on the base in 2380, Starfleet hopes to be able to bring the base fully online before the end of the decade.
